So last week we headed to the temple to see the lights with our friends, the Barrets. It was Jonas' first time going and he loved it the temple and the lights! It was so neat to be able to show him everything and he was in awe at seeing the statue of Christ in the Visitor's Center!
Not many things in the world fill my heart with such love and my soul with such peace as the sight of the temple... A House of the Lord.

Arizona winters seem to be like others places' fall except that we don't usually get any of the beautiful change in colors or the many falling leaves. Yesterday though, after the beautiful rain storm and running around for a while in the rain, Aubrey, Maddy, and I we decided to play around in the leaves. Grandma's backyard has a nice leafy tree that is shedding it's coat!
Skidunk joined in the excitement... from a distance :)

I'm such a kid at heart :)

Uncle Robby just laughing at us :)

Maddy with the Nerf gun that is bigger than her :) She's ready for action!

My card...
Steven's card... (don't ask, I can't explain it)
Brenden's card... Ha ha boys and Christmas cards make me laugh!
Best friends and Roomies! :) Brenden and Steven... I should post the other one that I took, but I'm too nice :)

Emma (my amazing friend from Sweden) is moving down to Snowflake with her family soon. She is down here with her dad and brother to visit the new city where they are going to live. Tonight I went and got her and she is spending the night at my grandparent's house with KineBritt and me. We are so excited to have her here! Yay Swedish girls!

Walking to the lightrail after church today I could help but notice the beautiful colored leaves falling all around me...

Yesterday I went on a date with my friend, Brenden. After a delicious dinner at Olive Garden, Brenden took me to Golfland to play a round of mini golf :)
It was a very intense game. which I won (Ha!) :) I was of course very humble about that. We played air hockey as well, but Brenden cheated so I lost that. lol
We also went to see the temple lights and watched the Phantom of the Opera movie. :) Way fun!!! On the way home, we stopped to walk across the Tempe bridge, which I have wanted to do all semester! It was so beautiful! I love the lights and the Christmas feeling :)
So it turned out to be quite an awesome date. I was definitely surprised that he had it all planned out and was on time and everything. :) Very fun! He makes me laugh :)

Oh yeeeaaahhh!!! Loadin' up on ranch at Chick Fil A! :)
Titan making a fashion statement :) Meisje just layin' around with us :)

"Siri look what I made! It's a duck dinosaur! See look it's quacking!"

Getting all excited to sing his Gingerbread songs :)
The "chef" puppet telling the story of the gingerbread man that the kindergarten class baked :)
About to sing "Gingerbread Rock"!
Sammy, the Superstar, and I after the show :) Way fun!!!

Ryan and I went to the midnight showing of Avatar... and yes it was better than I thought it would be. Definitely worth seeing and made me think. It raised a lot of moral and ethical questions aside from having amazing graphics.

I went over to play with Bou Bou and while I was, Brooklynn took some pictures. Charlie is trying really hard to get my attention in this one. :) See him here behind my back, trying to see if the wet that his nose is leaving on the back of my jacket will get me to turn around.
Charlie goofing around :)

She has a tumor on her underside and the vet says it's just taking over and there isn't really anything we can do. She has still been giving it her all, but she is getting really slow. She has been throwing up her food, as you can see here. Her rib cage and her hips are really poikng through :(
Best dog a girl coul ask for... Best dog.

Living with this little bat-looking dog cracks me up every day :) She's hilarious!

Sunday night was our monthly FHE with family and cousins. Brooklynn came and I am surprised we haven't scared her off yet. She seems to fit right in! We love her! Robby and Tracey came and I loved seeing them!

Luke Chapter 2, vs 1-7: And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
vs 8-14: And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
vs 15-20: And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
Matthew Chapter 2, vs 1-8: Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
vs 9-10: When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
vs 11-12: And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
This Christmas remember what the meaning of this great time of year is. Christ was born. He entered into this world by choice, lived a perfect life, and took upon Himself our sins that we might have eternal life. He is our Great Redeemer and Savior. Celebrate His birth... The life that made eternal life.

Cori, Brooklynn, and I went to the ward Christmas party on Saturday night...
It was decorated so nicely for dinner!
We met new friends: Brenden, Steven, and Kyle ( I hope I remembered those correctly).
Dinner was made by the bishopric's wives and it was fantastic! Especially the funeral potatoes!
Camera war!
We had several musical numbers after dinner as well as a narration of Luke 2. It was fantastic! What a great celebration of the birth of our Savior! :) Everything about Christmas just makes me smile!

Jonas setting a swinging record :)
Brooklynn and me training for the circus! Like sister like sister :) My little twin... She is so cute.

Saturday was our annual Santa Lucia Party! I brought Brooklynn with to give her a little taste of Swedish culture!
We showed her how to break the cookie and if you get it into three pieces you get to make wish :)
